Tuck Mill Cottage

About

Tuck Mill, a 200 years old cottage is set in a tranquil setting, accessed by a private drive approximately 400 m off the main road and 600 m from the village of Maghera with superb views of the Mournes and 5 min away from Newcastle and Castlewellan by car.

We have sought to equip the cottage to a high standard and to anticipate your needs by providing all the things you might want for a luxurious stay. A super-king sized bed, log burning stove, TV with free view channels, dishwasher, washing machine, hair dryer, bedding and towels are provided as standard. As the cottage is over 200 years old some internal doors are not regular size, one is just under 1750 mm in height and two others are 675 mm wide, thereby being unsuitable for wheelchair access.

My husband’s family have farmed the land around Tuck Mill Cottage for generations and we have lived onsite for the past 20 odd years. We love the peace and tranquillity of the area and yet the ease of access to local amenities. We have always enjoying sharing our home and surroundings with friends and family and now that we have renovated Tuck Mill Cottage are keen to expand this to include you. We are keen out-door people and enjoy our local forest parks, Tollymore and Castlewellan and the beach at Murlough as well as hill walking in the Mournes. We would be very happy to advise you on local and mountain walking routes.

Tuck Mill Cottage is situated in the stunning Mourne Mountains Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. As well as mountains there is much to enjoy right on our doorstep with forest parks and beaches, golf courses and country estates and of course we also live in an area rich in history with many sites such as Dundrum Castle and Maghera Old Church and round tower on our doorstep. Not to forget to mention the many film locations in the area especially those of Game of Thrones. With such a variety of things to do it is no wonder the area is very popular with locals and guests alike.
