    Cycling has always been a favourite way to get out and about to explore our beautiful region and with so many activity centres available to hire a bike for the day, you don’t even need to have your own wheels!  Have a look at the cycling routes we have laid out for you and get on your bike!

    It is easy to get to and around the Mourne Mountains & Ring of Gullion, but to help you on your way, we’ve lots of maps, brochures, walking trails and cycling routes to guide you on your way.

    Cycing in the Mourne Mountains - start at the northern side of the resort of Newcastle and cycle along the A50 towards the market town of Castlewellan. Before Castlewellan, turn left onto Tollymore Road and then right onto Middle Tollymore Road.

    Join us at the Mourne Outdoor Festival for our Bikes & Beer Experience… as we bike our way to a thirst on the awesome Castlewellan MTB Trails before retiring to Hillyard House to sample some awesome local Ales… how Saturdays should be!

      The great outdoors of Mourne, Gullion and Strangford are possibly the greatest in the world. The climbs and dips of the peaks and valleys offer those who like to get on their bikes and explore a chance to do just that in a place of giant wonder.

      One of Northern Ireland's most famous lakes, a stunning Victorian Castle, incredible panoramic views and flowing singletrack; all just minutes from the lively village of Castlewellan.
    3. Rostrevor Mountain Bike Trail
      Rostrevor Mountain Bike Trails in Kilbroney Park and Rostrevor Forest offer challenging climbs with some serious descents and Ireland's first two official downhill trails and other trails suitable for families to use. Make time to stop off at Kodak Corner to take in the view over Carlingford Lough and beyond.
