We are open for business

Following the government announcement restrictions are starting to ease.  The regulations for the easing of restrictions from 23 and 30 April 2021 have now been published and 24 May 2021 was announced for the reopening of other accommodation and the hospitality sector in Northern Ireland. If you're planning your next staycation or thinking of coming to Visit Mourne for a great day out, here are some suggestions on what's open.

  • Couple walking through the forest on an Xhale The Sound of Silence experience.

Mindful walks in The Mourne Mountains and Ring of Gullion

The Mourne Mountains and Ring of Gullion is a paradise for walkers. For those who treat it like an Olympic sport there are of course an abundance of challenging treks over mountains and calf-stretching trails through endless forests. If, however, you prefer to take your time and smell the roses, then there are plenty of places you can do that too.

  • Couple walking along Murlough Bay Beach with a dog.

    Dog Friendly Walks

If your best friend could pick a destination for that perfect getaway or dog walking weekend break, they’d probably pick the Mourne Mountains and Ring of Gullion area. With more great walks than you could throw a stick at, and a veritable doggie perfumery of enticing smells on the wind, this part of the world is sure to have your pooch’s tail wagging like ninety.

  • Family cycling along The Fairy Glen in Rostrevor.

    Family Friendly Cycle Trails

The great outdoors of Mourne, Gullion and Strangford are possibly the greatest in the world. The climbs and dips of the peaks and valleys offer those who like to get on their bikes and explore a chance to do just that in a place of giant wonder.
