About
Bunkers Hill is a small, recently felled forest at the egde of Castlewellan Town. Developed in October 2014 this short circular trail is suitable for walking and family cycling only and incorporates 3 panoramic viewpoints.It is complemented by a Natural Play Trail for children aged between 4 and 11 years. The Play Trail is the first of its kind in Castlewellan and is made almost entirely out of natural materials. It includes basket swings, a lookout tower, amphitheatre, story teller's chair and seats as well as a bespoke climbing wall.

Getting to the start:
Please note: there is no car parking onsite.
From the Main Street in Castlewellan town centre, drive onto Upper Square which borders a car park (there are public toilets available here). From Upper Square turn left or right (depending on the direction of travel) onto Circular Road - Castlewellan Community Centre is signposted from here. Travelling in a straight direction the road becomes 'Bunkers Hill'. On the left there is an Irish-speaking school called Bunscoil Bheanna Boirche. The entrance to Bunkers Hill is directly after this on the left.
