Synergy Studios is a new and distinctive craft and design shop, gallery and workshop space nestled in the Mourne mountains, looking out over the sea in Newcastle County Down.

Synergy encourages and supports local artists, makers and designers to produce and sell their work, including younger new arrivals on the craft and design scene. The shop stocks a wide selection of items at a range of prices, from the small gift or souvenir to the more expensive special gift or purchase. Work on sale is all unique and includes ceramics, prints, jewellery (including some made specially for Synergy) wood, fused glass, paintings, mixed media work and textiles.

Synergy is also home to the Hairy Potter and his amazing range of magical wands and potions.

Much of the work is inspired by nature, weaving together natural materials and local creativity with the energy and vitality of the Mourne Mountains. The Studios also champions work that has been made to have a low impact on the environment. Alongside gifts and keepsakes are ideas to complement interior design projects for a distinctive home decor and work can be commissioned to suit specific design ideas.

Alongside the work for sale, we are developing a new unique creative workshop offer combining personal development, outdoor activity and creative making, including foraging trips out onto the beach or into the forests to gather materials and inspiration for the workshop itself. The workshops are designed to help re-connect with nature and with each individual participants personal journey.

Synergy holds additional events over the year including exhibitions, and Meet the Maker; a chance to meet some of the people making the work on sale and find out more about their story, their inspiration and what goes into making their products.
