About
The Downpatrick Workhouse on Strangford Road closed 80 years ago this year. A new exhibition at Down County Museum explores the complex history of the workhouse and the harsh realities faced by the local residents who entered its doors. Objects on display include a famine pot, documents, architectural drawings and plans. The exhibition will be open to the public from Friday 30 May until the end of November.
While you are here, take time to explore the old Gaol and the museum's exhibitions telling the story of our district.
