On 11th May 2023 at 2.30 pm local man, John Davis, will reflect on his working life in Newry, especially on his career as a Ward Orderly at Daisy Hill Hospital during the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. John’s work gave him a unique insight into day-to-life at the Hospital and the changes in medical care in the Newry area up until his retirement in 2001.

An award-wining photographer, John’s talk will be illustrated with many of his slides and photographs.

This talk complements the current temporary exhibition ‘Caring for the Community: The Development of Medicine in Newry and Mourne,’ which is on open to the public free of charge until September 2023.

The lecture will commence at 2.30pm and there will be an entrance fee of £2.18 per person.
