On Monday17 March, at 9.30am until 10.30am and again at 10.45am until 11.45am there will be Jumping Clay arts and crafts workshops. This will involve the children making their own St. Patrick ’s Day model just in time for the parade. These workshops are suitable for children aged between 5 - 11. An adult must accompany children and numbers are limited, so pre booking of places is essential.
Mini Explorers will visit the Museum from 12pm until 4pm to provide sensory play activities, which include: Five Sensory trays filled with dry sensory play themed St Patricks & Green, rice, oats, cereals, pasta; One tuff tray table which is suitable for older children with green scented therapeutic dough; A designated sensory toy area for children who may not play with the sensory trays, this will be on soft mats; A designated small baby area with sensory scarves, blankets, pom poms. Suitably qualified staff will on hand to answer questions parents may have about play at home.
From 2pm until 3.30pm Briege Murphy makes a very welcome return to the Museum. Hailing from Forkhill, Briege grew up in a family steeped in traditional music. Her first album, ‘The Longest Road' was released to critical acclaim, followed by 'The Sea and other Songs', a Folk Roots album of the year. Other albums include 'From Now On' in which she sings songs that she grew up with, combining her love of Irish traditional and American folk.
All the activities are free of charge. If you wish to book, or you require more information please email declan.carroll@nmandd.org
