Where is Castlewellan Caravan Park?
Castlewellan Forest Park is located in a stunning location of mountain and sea. The Park boasts one of Northern Ireland's most famous lakes, a stunning Victorian Castle, incredible panoramic views, scenic walking trails, 27km of Mountain Bike Trails, Mountain Bike pump track, play park, an onsite multi-activity Centre and one of the world’s largest hedge mazes.

Important Notice - With the exciting restoration work (new visitor centre, café etc) currently taking place at the Park, please be advised that the campsite may be affected by some construction noise during, generally between the hours of 7:30am and 6pm. Castlewellan Caravan Park: Opening Dates & Operating Times
Castlewellan Caravan Park operating times for 2025 are as follows:
March: Thursday 13 to Tuesday 18 / Friday 21 & Saturday 22 / Friday 28 & Saturday 29.
April to September: Friday 4 & Saturday 5 April / Friday 11 & Saturday 12 April. Daily from Thursday 17 April until Monday 29 September.
October & November: Friday 3 & Saturday 4 October / Friday 10 & Saturday 11 October / Friday 17 & Saturday 18 October. Daily from Friday 24 October to Sunday 2 November. Caravan Park closes (for the season) on Sunday 2 November 2025.

Check in: strictly from 2pm. Check out: strictly before 1 pm.
We would ask all visitors to use the main public car park.
We would ask all residents to adhere to the 'quiet after 11pm’ rule.
It is now mandatory to recycle all your waste appropriately in the designated bins.
These points help us to provide an enjoyable stay for all visitors.

Castlewellan Caravan Park: How to book
Castlewellan Caravan Park booking system opens for the season annually in January (and closes in November). Advance bookings are essential. Bookings are available online only. Please note: Full payment is required at the time of booking. Booking reference number is required for check-in.

Where are the pitches in Castlewellan Caravan Park?
Main site
- numbered M01 to M37 on site map (£30.80 per night)

37 hard standing pitches with electric hook-ups. 4 of these pitches can accommodate tents and 27 are suitable for awnings. When making a booking, the online system will allow customers to select from a drop-down menu of available pitches.
• Pitches suitable for tents: M02, M04, M06, M10.
Pitches not suitable for awnings: M01, M03, M07, M08, M11, M12, M15, M20, M22, M25.

Dovecote Yard

Grassed tent pitches (£24.50 per night)
Please ensure to select the correct accommodation type as failure to do so may affect your stay.
40 tent pitches (electric hook-up not available). On arrival, customers will select their own tent pitch space from within the designated tent areas (see site map). Customers must leave a minimum of 5 metres between each tent pitch. TENTS ONLY (200 sq ft maximum)- please note this area is NOT suitable for Trailer Tents, Roof-top Tents, Box Tents, Caravans, Motorhomes, Campervans, RV’s or Folding Caravans.
Please note: there are no laundry facilities onsite.
Drumbuck Wood (£18.00 per night)
Please ensure to select the correct accommodation type as failure to do so may affect your stay.
19 pitches, situated 850 metres from the main park (electric hook-up, toilet/shower facilities are NOT available). When making a booking, the online system will allow customers to select from a drop-down menu of available pitches. Please note this area is NOT suitable for Ground-based Tents, Trailer Tents, Box Tents, Roof-top Tents or Folding Caravans.

Payments, Cancellations and Amendments
Full payment is required at the time of booking. All prices quoted are inclusive of VAT charged at 20%.
A minimum of seven days' written notice prior to the date of arrival (by letter or email – castlewellanpark@nmandd.org) is required to be given to Council to cancel bookings. If seven or more days’ notice is given, then a refund will be given less a £5 administration fee.
If more than 72 hours’ written notice (by letter or email) is given, the booking may be rearranged to another available date within the Season. Requests to rearrange a booking within 72 hours of the Customer’s arrival date or failure to arrive are not permitted. Customers are advised to have insurance cover in the event of cancellation.
