The Mourne Gullion Strangford UNESCO Global Geopark places local community at the heart of all projects and events.
A key aspect of the Mourne Gullion Strangford UNESCO Global Geopark is community empowerment and our events programme is designed to engage, entertain and educate. Community groups and initiatives are central to the life of the region. This participation has taken many forms, including public meetings, work with schools, community events, training of community members as Geo Ambassadors, summer schemes and workshops for local groups.
