Hillyard House Hotel

About

After being extensively renovated by its new owners, Hillyard House was officially opened in August 2020. Originally a nine bedroom guesthouse, Hillyard House has been reborn into a luxurious 20 bedroom, boutique style accommodation. We are truly a 'hidden gem' nestled in the small market town of Castlewellan in County Down, Northern Ireland. You can find us just before the entrance to the beautiful Castlewellan Forest park which is our adopted 'back garden'.

Conveniently located less than one hour’s drive from Belfast and less than two hours from Dublin, we offer a wonderful experience for our guests to enjoy a relaxing break with all the 'little things' that make a difference. Our beautifully decorated bedrooms offer a modern and homely haven. Each room offers individual coffee machine, air conditioning and spacious bathrooms. Most of our rooms offer superking sized beds which add to our guests comfort. All rooms are decorated to reflect the same theme with the inclusion of local photography to welcome our guests to the local area.

The 'Yard Restaurant’ offers a wide selection of locally sourced foods to suit the most discerning of diners. We have a salt meat ageing chamber in the restaurant and highly recommend our locally sourced beef cooked to perfection on our broiler as well as our in house freshly baked breads.

Mrs Coleman’s Bar is also available for guests to enjoy a wide range of delicious beverages including locally sourced craft beers, gins and a selection of cocktails expertly mixed by our awesome bar team.

Each guestroom offers modern open plan furniture, including dressing table, stool, mirror, storage area for hanging clothes and table & chairs. TVs, individual LOR coffee machines, air conditioning and spacious bathrooms are included in every guestroom. All rooms are key card operated for guest convenience and also include local photography pictures, complimentary spring water and a hairdryer. An iron and ironing board are available on request.
