Mountain Cottage

About

Step back in time in this rustic luxury retreat in the High Mournes. Perched on the slopes of Butter Mountain the cottage was the homeplace of Paddy Grant a local Granite stonemason who emigrated from Ireland to North America.

This once-tumbledown cottage is a piece of local heritage, now lovingly restored to its bygone day using local sustainable materials & traditional building techniques.

At over 1000 feet altitude, Soak up the mountain views from the highest holiday cottage in Ireland; Relax in the outdoor hot-tub under the stars; Curl up with a book by the open fire; And waken to wooly sheep at your bedroom window as the sun rises.

Home to cosy comforts and adventure, from your doorstep, roam the UNESCO Mourne Mountains with ease of access to the popular hike of Slieve Doan and a Wild Dip in the clear waters of Lough Shannagh

Famous guests have included the Game of Thrones author George RR Martin & Holywood actor Hugh Jackman.
