The Lecale Peninsula Tours

Book Tickets Online

Explore Saint Patrick's Country and the Mourne Coastal Route like never before. The Lecale Peninsula Tours are led by local historian and author Duane Fitzsimons. The scenic tours use the Lecale Way and include lots of folklore and legends. Duane brings the experience to life with lots of unique original sources. For the longer tours lunch is included in the ticket price.

Located at the feet of the majestic Mourne Mountains on the shores of Strangford Lough, just 20 miles from Belfast. Lecale is the resting place of not only Saint Patrick but also Brigid and Columba. These connections mean it can boast an impressive early Christian heritage. The area was conquered by the Norman in the 12th Century and it is home to Ireland’s largest collection of tower-house castles.
