About

Tievenadarragh Wood features 6 km (3.6 miles) of waymarked trails that wind through picturesque woodland, offering panoramic views of the County Down countryside and the Mourne Mountains.

The name originates from the Irish Taobh na Darach, meaning “hillside of the oak tree.” Generally considered an easy route, it takes approximately 45 minutes to complete and is ideal for scenic walks, hiking, mountain biking, and running.

It’s a great option for dog owners, though dogs must be kept on a lead. The trail is peaceful and quiet, with few others likely to be encountered along the way. Follow the purple waymarker discs on the wooden posts throughout the wood to stay on track.
