Down Cathedral & St Patrick's Grave EHOD 2025

About

You will receive a warm welcome when you visit Down Cathedral on the Hill of Down adjacent to St Patrick’s final resting place. Our guided tours will tell of the history connected with St Patrick, the Cathedral was built on the site of a Benedictine Monastery, built by John De Courcy in 1183, which he dedicated to St Patrick.

There are many fine individual features, superb stained-glass windows, Georgian style box pews and a magnificent pipe organ one of the finest in Ireland.

Down Cathedral is first and foremost a place of worship and prayer and you are most welcome to join with us. For more information, please visit www.downcathedral.org
