On Sunday 3 December, Saint Patrick Square, Downpatrick will be the focal point for the Downpatrick Christmas Lights Switch On festivities. 

Everyone is encouraged to come early and soak up the atmosphere at a special Christmas Artisan Market.  

A fabulous, local based, Downpatrick retailer's  market event is being held from 1.00pm to 6.00pm in the marquee behind the Grove Shopping Centre.  An Arts and Craft Fair is being held in Murphy's Bar and Restaurant.

There will be family and street entertainment, including games, bag making, jar printing, balloon artists, street artists, mini fair ground, Santa's grotto and live DJ music followed by ABBA Sensations.  Santa will assist the NMD Chairperson, Councillor Valerie Harte to switch on the lights at 6pm. The event will close with a festive firework display.
