Drawn to Newcastle

About

From 2–13 June, local artist Craig Fyfe will be spending time in and around Newcastle Library, creating artwork and connecting with the community through his latest project, Drawn to Newcastle. This creative initiative celebrates the town's distinctive architecture and charm through hand-drawn postcard illustrations inspired by local landmarks.

Visitors are invited to view original artwork in progress and take part in a series of relaxed, free postcard-making workshops. Open to all ages, the workshops offer a chance to reflect on the places we love and transform them into personalised works of art. Whether you're local or just passing through, you're welcome to drop in, get creative, and have some fun.

Throughout the project, the growing collection of illustrations will be on display at Newcastle Library. There will also be a chance to purchase limited edition prints, postcards, mugs, and keyrings — all created in proud partnership with The Crafty Macs, a local maker known for bespoke, heartfelt gifts.

Workshop Highlights:

June 3rd at 5:30pm: Postcard-making for adults and older teens

June 7th at 11:00am: Walk-in kids' activity – design your own postcard!

June 12th at 10:30am: Early years-friendly session (parents must supervise)

To help manage materials and space, we encourage participants to register via www.craigfyfe.com, where you can also explore more of the project.
