About

They will provide a fascinating insight into the history of the Gaol and the stories of some of its prisoners, as well as the Museum's latest attraction, the Ballykinler Hut. This is a recreation of one of the Armstrong Huts that once stood at the former Ballykinler military camp and features displays and stories from the period 1914 and 1950 ranging from soldiers on their way to the Somme, internees during the Irish War of Independence, American GI's and Maltese refugees during World War Two.

Gaol Tours will run at 10.30am and 13.30pm.

Ballykinler Hut Tours will run at 11.30am and 14.30pm.

Tours must be prebooked, so please contact Education and Outreach at Down County Museum on +44 (0) 33 0137 4049.
