From A Forest To A Fiddle - Film Screening & Live Performance

About

Join us for an unforgettable evening celebrating craftsmanship, heritage, and the timeless power of music. From A Forest To A Fiddle is a breathtaking film directed by Patrick Conway, capturing master luthier Jim McKillop in his rural workshop as he crafts his final fiddle - a true masterpiece of Irish craftsmanship. Filmed over six months, this intimate portrait reveals the alchemy and dedication behind every violin, celebrating a tradition deeply rooted in Irish culture.

The film is beautifully underscored by an original composition from acclaimed musician Zoe Conway, inspired by the ancient Ogham Irish alphabet, where each letter is associated with a natural tree.
Following the screening, audiences will be treated to a live performance by Zoe Conway and John McIntyre, showcasing their stunning music and song with fiddle and guitar.
Presented in association with the Spotlight programme from Film Hub NI, the British Film Institute (BFI), and the Film Audience Network.
