Gaisce/President's Award

About

Intro and registration event for Gaisce / President's Award through the medium of Irish. Gaisce/President's Award is the Equivalent to Duke of Edinburgh. The event is suitable for 15-25 year olds. Parents of younger people are very welcome along also.
This event is being coordinated by local Irish language group, Glór Uachtar Tíre. GUT is a Gaisce/President's Award license holder and due to support from DoE, Gaisce is being offered at the reduced price of £25 per person. GUT is rolling out the Gaisce /The President's Award at the Silver level.
There are four main components to this award. Participants must set themselves personal goals in each of the four Challenge Areas: Community Involvement, Personal Skill, Physical Recreation and the Adventure Journey.
Gaisce/President's Award has international acclaim, it is recognised as Ireland's national youth award and is the highest recognition of a young person's achievement and voluntary contribution. It is an asset on any CV or UCAS form, but most of all, it's great fun! This programme will be run through Irish and will be fully accessible to young people learning Irish. Whether you are fluent in Irish or are looking for an opportunity to improve Irish for GCSEs or A-Levels, this is a fantastic opportunity. Come along to the introductory and registration event!
