Garden Highlight Walk

Montalto Estate, Spa Road, Ballynahinch, County Down, BT24 8PT
Montalto Estate

About

This tour of Montalto is perfect for those who have an interest in gardens and want to gain an insight into what it takes to be shortlisted for the UK Garden of the Year. Your tour will start with a short talk about the history of the estate by our Head Gardener. Following this, you will be inspired by this location, soaking in the sights and scents of one of the most beautiful gardens in Northern Ireland.

The walk will highlight the many stunning elements of the estate including a natural rock formation which has been complimented with over 250 varieties of alpine plants. You will view our champion trees along with an impressive collection of shrubs and herbaceous perennials and we will keep our fingers crossed to see some of the estate wildlife.

We will finish off the tour with tea / coffee and scrumptious homemade Montalto shortbread where you will have the opportunity to get advice from the Head Gardener on your own garden.

The tour/what to wear: This tour involves walking in varying terrains and weather conditions so appropriate footwear and clothing are essential. Our tour will encompass many parts of Montalto and will involve walking / standing for the duration of experience.
