Mill Road, Kilcoo, County Down, BT34 5HD
Maginn's Cornmill EHOD 2025

About

The Mill, the Kiln, the Mill Race and Mill Pond.

Maginn’s Cornmill dates all the way back to 1553. It was located beside The Muddock to assist the flow of water to drive the overshot water driven wheel, sadly no longer attached to the mill. The Mill’s Kiln is still standing, this was used to dry the grain before it was grinded for flour, porridge oats, for feed for animals. The Mill’s Race and Pond are also still in existence. These was used for the flow of water to drive the wheel to power the machinery inside the mill.
