Castlescreen Farm

About

Beautifully set within lush green pastures Castlescreen Farm is home to a herd of 150 miniature native Irish breed Dexter cows, some measuring as small as 36 inches in height. With breath-taking panoramic views, this organic farm is owned by husband-and-wife team Damien, Jackie, and their four children who are renowned locally for their easy-going, laughter-filled way of life.

Classified as an endangered species in the 1970's the Dexter miniature breed was once prevalent in Ireland when it was commonly known as the poor man's cow. On the Tumelty's family farm, Dexter cows graze happily outdoors on naturally nutritious organic grass abundant in white clover yielding the highest quality, award-winning beef that Castlescreen Farm is famous for.

A visit to Castlescreen Farm is sure to get stuck inside the visitor's head and heart. Damien and Jackie are an incredible duet who radiate pride for their family and farm. Balancing pure fun with fascinating insights (like how to become a champion prize-winning cow handler), this is your chance to get up close and personal with this beautiful and docile native Irish animal.
