Traditional Baking at Home with Mrs C

Mrs C's Home Kitchen, 56 Dromara Road, Dundrum, County Down, BT33 0NS
On the griddle

About

Step into our warm and welcoming home kitchen, where the scent of freshly baked bread fills the air and breathtaking views of the Mourne Mountains provide the perfect backdrop.

Under the careful guidance of Mrs. C, you will learn the time honoured art of making traditional Irish breads just as generations before us have done.

Ireland has a proud tradition of non-yeast breads, from soft, floury potato bread and golden soda farls to wholesome wheaten bread (also known as brown soda bread in parts of the country). Dating back to the 1840s, when bicarbonate of soda first arrived in Ireland, these breads have remained a staple of our diet, each family adding their own special touch. Now, you will have the chance to create them yourself, using Mrs C's own trusted recipes.

As your breads bake to perfection on the griddle, you will be treated to a spread of homemade seasonal delights, showcasing the best of our home grown produce and locally sourced ingredients. Whether it's a roaring fire in winter or a sun-drenched patio in summer, every moment here is designed to be relaxing, immersive, and deeply nourishing.

When the time comes to leave our cosy kitchen, you won't just take home your freshly made bread, you will take with you – new skills, wonderful memories, and a taste of true Irish hospitality.
