About
This summer, enjoy free tours of the museum at 2pm each day. When the sun shines there will be outdoor games. The Cathedral View Kidszone has drawing, reading and dressing up as well as amazing views. Learn about items from the past in object handling sessions (check social media for times).
The museum's education programme offers tailored visits and activities for schools and groups. Contact us to book a school or group visit.
Don't forget to stop by our 'History to Go' table to pick up a book and take a little history home with you!
While you're here, browse the permanent 'Down Through Time' exhibition with over 1,000 items dating from prehistoric times to the present day. Experience displays on Christian heritage, farming and fishing and the history of the gaol. Stroll through restored prison cells first used to hold prisoners in 1796. See our temporary exhibitions on the Downpatrick Workhouse and the Oughley Shed.
