All We Imagine As Light

About

All We Imagine As Light
A buried glorious treasure that we are delighted to present to you for May, and the type of film that might not receive the box office exposure it deserves, but absolutely justifies why we still hunt down first class cinema from around the world for you to enjoy. Immediately absorbing & enthralling, this is the story of 3 nurses set in modern day Mumbai; one of the 3, Prabha, has her daily life in Mumbai take an unexpected turn when a surprise present arrives from her estranged husband. Her younger roommate, Anu, faces frustration in her quest to secure a private spot in the city to be intimate with her partner. Stories intertwine at a leisurely, almost dreamlike pace, as our protagonists are followed in public & private, and you can genuinely feel the humanity emanating from the screen, as this quietly impactful story unfolds. Graceful, unhurried, immaculately acted & written; a true treat of global cinema.

This screening is part of our ongoing World Cinema series, where we celebrate global storytelling and diverse perspectives.
