About

This thatched cottage, in the 'clachan' of Hannas Close, has many traditional features, half door, open fire, sash windows. The Close sits on the banks of the Kilkeel River which flows from the Silent Valley to the fishing port of Kilkeel. The part of it as it flows by the Close has walking and fishing opportunities for residents of the cottages.

The Cottage is within easy driving distance to Silent Valley Mountain Park for easy walks and access to the High Mournes.
Annalong Corn Mill, Kilkeel Harbour, Nautilus Centre (includes maritime museum and Tracing your Mourne roots)and Cranfield Blue flag beach are all close to cottage.

Cottage has two bedrooms: one bedroom is a family room and second is a bunk bed. Heating and electricity are included in the published price. Bed linen and towels are provided. Maps available for guests showing mountain walks. Welcome pack includes tea, sugar, coffee, milk and home made wheaten bread. Dogs are welcome in this cottage.

2015 - Mountains of Mourne Country Cottages were awarded a Silver Award in the Green Tourism Business Scheme.

Reductions for long-term and group bookings. Bookings begin 16:00 on day of arrival and end 11:00 on day of departure. Other times by arrangement
