'Family Trees & Six Degrees'

7 Irish Street, The Little Corner Gallery, Downpatrick, Downpatrick, Down, BT30 6BE
Poster for Family Trees & Six Degrees

About

Visual artist Amira McDonagh, who is based outside Downpatrick will be taking over the old Crafty Corner space on the corner of Market and Irish Street in Downpatrick during the month of May, to stage an exhibition about her Family Tree.

'Family Trees & Six Degrees' is an exhibition of two halves; one half shares the stories of the artist's family tree, whilst the other invites visitors to become part of an imagined family tree that will be created, by the artist in the space.
The exhibition will be available to view in the shopfront from 6th May – 30th May, showcasing some of the small works the artist has made around her ancestry.

During this time the artist will have two open days on both Bank Holiday Mondays (6th & 27th) where members of the public are invited to the space between 1 – 4pm to have their outline drawn by the artist using charcoal on an evolving drawing piece which will be on view in the space. The large piece imagining if we were all related; not biologically, but through the social theory of ‘six degrees of separation’
