Reid’s Hall is surrounded with breath taking views of the Mourne Mountains, inspiring painters, designers, photographers, writers and poets. Its peaceful atmosphere is an ideal place to relax and unwind. With private parking and garden you can chill out with a coffee and admire the surrounding views.It is a favourite route for sightseers, cyclists and walkers. Reid’s Hall is centred between the nearby villages of Hilltown and Rostrevor which have well established restaurants and bars providing good quality food and entertainment. There are regular bus services from the nearby villages to Newry, Belfast and Dublin city.
A 15 minute drive will take you to the picturesque Silent Valley or the Blue Flag Cranfield beach.
Rostrevor, located 3 miles away, is the inspiration for CS Lewis. Author of `The Chronicles of Narnia' that began with `The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe', was inspired by the Mourne landscape. As a young boy, Lewis often holidayed in Rostrevor and is reported to have written a letter to his brother saying: “That part of Rostrevor which overlooks Carlingford Lough is my idea of Narnia.”
Rostrevor Biking Track is one of the largest tracks in Ireland attracting bikers from all over Ireland and the UK.
