Rostrevor, located 3 miles away, is the inspiration for CS Lewis. Author of `The Chronicles of Narnia' that began with `The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe', was inspired by the Mourne landscape. As a young boy, Lewis often holidayed in Rostrevor and is reported to have written a letter to his brother saying: “That part of Rostrevor which overlooks Carlingford Lough is my idea of Narnia.”

Rostrevor Biking Track is one of the largest tracks in Ireland attracting bikers from all over Ireland and the UK.
Rostrevor's Fiddlers Green Festival puts on a week of great entertainment during the month of July

Warrenpoint’s Blues on the Bay, annual festival held in May, attracts many big name artists.
