Such is the beauty and history of Mourne Mountains & Ring of Gullion that it has inspired pagan chiefs and patron saints, writers, inventors, engineers and visitors from all corners of the world for millennia.

Just a few moments in the epic heart of the Mourne Mountains, along the rolling hills of the Ring of Gullion or on the rippling shores of Strangford Lough and you’ll soon discover why Saint Patrick chose to settle here. This is the land that also inspired C.S. Lewis and the creators of Game of Thrones® and its myths, legends, landscapes and experiences are sure to inspire you too.

Down Arts Centre

Down Arts Centre, Downpatrick is home to Newry Mourne and Down’s Arts Service. Formerly Downpatrick Town Hall, Down Arts Centre was designed by William Batt and built in 1882.

Delamont Country Park

Situated on the shores of Strangford Lough, just outside Killyleagh, Delamont Country Park is full of surprises. The park is the home of the Strangford Stone, which at ten metres high is the tallest monolith in Ireland. For kids, there’s the Outdoor Adventure Playground, while the whole family will love the Steamers Cafe and Miniature Railway.
Kilbroney Park, Rostrevor

On northern shore of Carlingford Lough, a wonderful escape for all the family no matter their different ages and stages. The offering on just this one site makes it something of a unique family destination and its location close to both Belfast and Dublin means it’s really easy to get to.
Slieve Gullion Forest Park

With tranquil woodland trails, stunning views across the Ring of Gullion to the Mourne Mountains, Cooley Peninsula and Armagh Drumlins, and adventure playpark, Fairy Walk and the Giant's lair in the wonderful Hawthorn Hill Forest - Slieve Gullion Forest Park, Meigh is a must see place to visit!

Cycling has always been a favourite way to get out and about to explore our beautiful region and with so many activity centres available to hire a bike for the day, you don’t even need to have your own wheels! Have a look at the cycling routes we have laid out for you and get on your bike!

The Mourne Mountains and Ring of Gullion is already something of a paradise to begin with, but over the years its spectacular charm has inspired green fingered pioneers who have worked with the landscape to carve out some sparkling displays of colour and beauty.
