Breakfast Pancakes at Margaret's Cottage B&B

Pancake Tuesday

Pancake Day is upon us on Tuesday, 21 February so it’s time to get mixing up a good batter!  According to experts, waiting for the bubbles to appear on the upside of your pancake is a sure indication that it is ready to be turned over so it is worth waiting until then before you flip it.

    Saint Brigid

Saint Brigid was born in the year 451 near Dundalk to a pagan Gaelic Chieftain named Dubtach and a Christian slave mother named Brocca.  She was baptized by Saint Patrick and later became his friend. Brigid's friendship with Saint Patrick was well documented in the "Book of Armagh".
