About

Come visit Bluebell Lane Forest and craft your very own Celtic Pendant.

Set on 26 acres of woodland near Newry, Co Down, Padraig Carragher operates his glamping accommodation and woodturning experience. This wonderful setting provides a serene, picturesque landscape and all of the raw materials he requires for his woodturning. Those with an interest in sustainability will be encouraged to learn that every piece of wood used here is sourced from the forest, with no living trees harmed.

On your arrival Padraig will take you through the neolithic artform with origins dating back 3,000 years, and also introduce you to Ireland’s ancient written language; Ogham. He’ll then teach you how to make your very own Celtic pendant with your birth month written in Ogham on it, before you head off to explore the woodland, strolling through this peaceful setting taking in the variety of trees and learning of their different uses throughout history.

This is a rewarding experience, which encourages you to connect with nature and embrace a slower pace. It also includes light refreshments including homemade scones, and you’ll leave with an impressive new skill and a magnificent pendant that will be laced and packaged in a beautiful presentation box.

This experience is suitable for all.
