Do you get into a flap before you flip?

Pancake Day is upon us on Tuesday, 13 February so it’s time to get mixing up a good batter!  According to experts, waiting for the bubbles to appear on the upside of your pancake is a sure indication that it is ready to be turned over so it is worth waiting until then before you flip it.  Then there is that decision to be made, what do you put on yours?  Some people enjoy a dollop of butter or a drizzle of syrup while others spritz on lemon juice with a sprinkle of sugar, all so mouth-wateringly delectable!

In times gone by, making pancakes on this day was an opportunity to use up eggs and fats before starting the Lenten fast on the run up to Easter.

Why not try to make your own pancakes with this simple recipe from renowned chef, Paul Cunningham?

In Mourne, Gullion and Strangford there are so many local venues for you to indulge in a delightful pancake treat!  Why not give them a try.
