About

Matt McGinn with Niall Murphy
Rostrevor Folk Club at Crawfords
Monday, January 19th, 2026. 8pm
Welcome back to two Folk Club favourites. Singer songwriter Matt McGinn has just finished supporting Paul Brady, playing venues like the Waterfront in Belfast and Derry's Millenium stadium. Matt's 2022 album 'Time Well Spent' was RTÉ Radio 1 and BBC Radio Ulster's 'Album of the Week' and features legendary fiddle player Eliza Carthy and Aoife Scott, with whom he duetted on the title track, one of Ireland's most popular folk songs of the last few years. He has had four singles in the Radio Ulster and RTE airplay charts. His haunting song 'Breaking the Silence' has become a theme song for those protesting the genocide in Gaza.

Niall Murphy is one of the most exciting fiddle players of his generation. He has travelled the world playing with some of music's biggest names and performing at many prestigious festivals, concerts and functions. He is a 5 x times national award-winning fiddle player and has amassed millions of online hits. He has toured and recorded with the likes of Nathan Carter and Cara Dillon, Mary Black and Sharon Shannon.
